Job Summary:

The Health Club Manager is responsible for the overall operations of the health club including maintaining high standards in spa/club services and operations and increasing sales/memberships.

Responsibilities:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in applicable field of study is required.
  • At least 4 years of experience in club management required.
  • In depth knowledge of the following: building budgets; analyzing income statements; fitness prescription front desk operations and increasing sales/memberships.
  • Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
  • Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
  • Must routinely meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to multitask.
  • Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace including anticipating preventing identifying and solving problems as necessary.
  • Must have the ability to assimilate complex information data etc. from disparate sources and consider adjust or modify to meet the constraints of the particular need.
  • Must be effective at listening to understanding and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guests.
  • Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data and basic arithmetic functions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Approach all encounters with guests and Associates in a friendly service oriented manner.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Aimbridge Hospitality standards as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming which include wearing the proper uniform and name tag when working (per brand standards).
  • Comply at all times with Aimbridge Hospitality standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Comply with certification requirements as applicable for position to include: Food Handlers Alcohol Awareness CPR and First Aid
  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
  • Associates must at all times be attentive friendly helpful and courteous to all guests managers and fellow Associates.
  • Maintain and increase club revenue.
  • Monitor and control departmental expenses.
  • Ensure club cleanliness and facility equipment maintenance.
  • Oversee service levels for fitness and health instruction and member programs.
  • Participate in planning new member sales.
  • Ensure overall member satisfaction.
  • Maintain communication with all departments of the hotel.
  • Ensure adherence to SOPs.
  • Approve and process all purchasing requisitions.
  • Reconcile and approve monthly ledge and income statements.
  • Perform daily walk-through inspections and weekly written inspections and follow-up.
  • Ensure quarterly written maintenance inspections.
  • Conduct weekly sales meetings.
  • Design and oversee implementation of marketing plan.
  • Oversee club newsletter.
  • Establish and maintain member policies.
  • Answer all member complaints and suggestions.
  • Enforce all spa/club and hotel policies.
  • Oversee training of spa/club Associates.
  • Attend all major member functions.
  • Purchase monthly sundries.
  • Assist as needed in corporate games and member events.
  • Produce requisitions for food & beverage housekeeping items.
  • Call in orders to vendors.
  • Assist in departments as needed.
  • Participate in M.O.D. schedule.
  • Attend meetings/trainings as required by management.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.
