About this Position The Field Services Supervisor (Utility Water Line Maintenance) position consists of highly skilled tasks of a heavy labor and mechanical nature regarding the maintenance of the City's water, wastewater, and street related facilities. This position involves the supervision and management of department personnel, equipment, and facilities. Additionally, they are responsible for technical, managerial, and administrative functions. They are required to exercise judgment in carrying out work assignments and maintaining machinery and equipment. This position operates on a 7:00-5:00 schedule but is often on-call. Responsibilities Manage, supervise and demonstrate the expectations of performance for department personnel in the Water Line Maintenance division Organize work orders and scheduling utilizing the software, Cityworks (will be trained on utilization) Oversee preventive and reactive maintenance programs related to water distribution systems Ensure ODEQ rules and regulations are followed Communicate with the public, other agencies, and other City departments Ensure compliance with City and department policies, procedures, and safety rules Work with the Assistant Superintendent to administer the Skill Based Pay training program, and all performance management activities Assist with administrative functions, such as direct purchasing, expenditures, correspondence, and research Assist in the preparation of the annual budget Assist with ordering and maintaining stock Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent 3 years of related experience and/or training Or equivalent combination of education and experience 2 years of management experience People and/or project management Either Class "B" Operator licenses from ODEQ: (wastewater line) Class "B" Wastewater Works Operator license (water line) Class "B" Water Works Operator license Obtain either a class "D" Water Works Operator or Wastewater Works Operator license within 6 months of hire Possess or be able to obtain a valid Class "B" Oklahoma Commercial Driver's License with Tanker and/or other required endorsements within six (6) months of employment Driving record acceptable to City's insurance carrier Necessary Skills Ability to communicate, manage and lead a team Ability to maintain confidentiality Ability and willingness to travel to local or out-of-town meetings, conferences, or seminars, potentially using personal vehicle during work hours Ability and willingness to be on-call Ability to meet the required physical standards for this position Ability to pass extensive background process and pre-employment drug, physical, and audio screenings Benefits Generous benefits package including health, vision, and dental insurance Access to a dedicated primary care medical clinic at no cost to employees and covered dependents Generous time off, paid holidays, longevity rewards, and retirement benefits Paid parental leave (new) A tangible impact to the Field Services Department and residents in the City of Edmond A dynamic and inclusive environment where your contributions are valued APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED UNTIL POSITION IS FILLED.
