Position Overview

Compensation: $17.25 per hour

The primary goal of this position is to ensure that all facilities are maintained in a clean and orderly manner at all times. This job description serves as a guideline for the essential duties and responsibilities necessary for effective building maintenance. Key Responsibilities

Core Duties

The following tasks are integral to the role and include, but are not limited to:

  • Performing floor care activities such as scrubbing, stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, extracting, and mopping.
  • Collaborating with the Supervisor to review daily assignments.
  • Gathering the necessary equipment and cleaning products.
  • Wearing safety belts during all work assignments.
  • Notifying the lead person upon completion of tasks.
  • Documenting time worked and materials utilized.
  • Utilizing wet floor signs consistently during all cleaning operations.
  • Reporting any issues that hinder task completion or affect quality standards.
  • Adhering to all company safety protocols and regulations without exception.
  • Maintaining company vehicles in a safe and organized condition.
  • Completing any additional tasks as directed by management.
  • Presenting a professional appearance, including wearing a clean and tidy uniform.
  • Participating in ongoing training and safety meetings.
  • Following instructions and performing tasks as directed.
  • Using building maps to navigate to work areas and ensuring punctuality.
Knowledge and Skills Required
  • Understanding of basic floor care procedures and responsibilities.
  • Ability to operate floor care machinery, including automatic scrubbers, buffers, and extractors.
  • Familiarity with the proper use and application of cleaning products.
  • Strong listening and verbal communication skills; proficiency in English may be required for some positions.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent; 1-3 years of experience in commercial cleaning and facility maintenance.
Work Environment
  • Work may occur in small to large office settings.
  • Safety glasses are mandatory for certain tasks.
  • Fast-paced work environment with moderate noise levels.
  • Exposure to typical office conditions as well as maintenance shop environments.
  • Regular exposure to dust, odors, and other common workplace elements.
Job Requirements
  • Ability to pass background checks.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Physical Requirements

The physical demands of this position require the employee to:
  • Occasionally stand, walk, sit, and use hands for various tasks.
  • Stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
  • Lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Have specific vision capabilities, including close and distance vision.
  • Receive reasonable accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act as needed.
