Job Summary

The Business Unit Fleet Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance of a large fleet of vehicles and heavy equipment, ensuring that all repairs and maintenance are performed in a safe and efficient manner. This role requires strong leadership and technical skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple teams and prioritize tasks effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direction and leadership to maintenance teams, ensuring that all repairs and maintenance are performed in accordance with company safety and compliance standards.
  • Oversee the coordination and planning of all repair work, prioritizing tasks and allocating resources as needed.
  • Monitor shop performance and efficiency, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive preventive maintenance program, ensuring that all equipment is properly maintained and serviced.
  • Perform inspections of outside repairs and maintenance, ensuring that all work is properly completed and in accordance with company standards.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in a related field preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a maintenance management role, with a strong background in heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Advanced knowledge of engine, transmission, brake, hydraulic, and electrical systems, as well as experience with welding and other repair techniques.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple teams and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
