Who we're looking for

Toyota'sConnected Technologies Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Senior Product Engineer to support Audio/Multimedia.

Reporting to the Principal Manager Engineer, the primary responsibility of this role is, the primary responsibility of this role is to lead the advanced development of future generation multimedia and connected services: development of vision, strategic planning to tactical planning, execution, and validation.

What you'll be doing

  • Create specification requirements for Audio - connecting head unit to server, app, and the provider.
  • Development and delivery responsibility for Audio and Entertainment apps including validation and certification.
  • Coordinate with other impacted stakeholders for the development and delivery of the product (e.g. HMI, Voice, User Profile, etc.) and prepare launch readiness activities as well as support in-market issues & life cycle changes.
  • Support future platform and feature development planning to keep Audio competitive with other OEM's and identify new innovations.
  • Create engineering designs that allow the entertainment app to be integrated with our Toyota multimedia systems.
  • Manage the design & development backlog while balancing product debugging and product development to achieve engineering milestones.
  • Negotiate priorities and work with various stakeholders to achieve the best product user experience for the end customer.

What you bring

  • Proven experience in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering field; and/or commensurate work experience.
  • Strong experience with engineering specifications (e.g., creating, interpreting, implementation, QA, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience in product development.
  • Exceptional knowledge in product management and cross-functional development.
  • Understanding of automotive Multimedia related hardware/software stacks.

Added bonus if you have

  • Bachelor's in Engineering; Masters preferred.
  • Automotive electronics development experience.
  • Major OEM experience and/or experience in the automotive field focused on telematics services and products.
  • Passion for audio engineering.
