Job Overview: The Senior Hardware Engineer at APCON will be instrumental in the design and development of intricate high-speed interconnected systems that are both adaptable and scalable. This role involves engaging in the creation and advancement of large-scale, state-of-the-art packet processors and switches. Additionally, this individual will provide practical technical support to the engineering team. As a Senior Hardware Engineer, you will oversee projects from conception to final production on the manufacturing floor, collaborating closely with various teams throughout the project lifecycle. Your responsibilities will encompass all aspects of design, including architecture, block diagram decisions, schematic capture, and board bring-up.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage in hands-on technical activities to support the engineering team.
  • Design and develop network switch solutions ranging from 100G to 400G from initial concept to production.
  • Participate in technical evaluations of product specifications.
  • Create schematics for designs.
  • Supervise PCB layout processes.
  • Conduct board bring-up and design validation.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to enhance design and troubleshoot products.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and training.
  • Over 10 years of experience in hardware development for communication-related product design.
  • Proficient in Ethernet, networking, and switching technologies.
  • Familiarity with schematic/layout tools, such as Cadence OrCAD.
  • Understanding of PCB technology, stack-up development, and high-speed layout considerations.
