Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, develop, and implement interior and exterior accessory development projects.
  • Review and approve CAD data, drawings, and testing documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with Toyota's quality standards.
  • Establish evaluation and quality assurance requirements for developed accessories, working closely with Toyota's divisions and suppliers to meet departmental objectives.
  • Analyze and evaluate accessory products to ensure they meet customer needs and quality standards, performing product evaluations and design reviews during prototype and pre-production development phases.
  • Utilize advanced technical knowledge to predict and prevent issues, analyze and develop countermeasures, and implement lessons learned into current and future design guidelines.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Computer-aided design experience and knowledge of tolerance stack-up using GD&T or traditional tolerance practices.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with PC software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Working knowledge of CATIA for design reviews and analyzing component data from internal sources and the supply base.
  • Knowledge of general mechanical design principles, manufacturing principles, and specific knowledge of plastic components.
  • Working knowledge of Design Review Based on Failure Mode (DRBFM).
  • Professional-level experience in an automotive product development environment.
  • Hands-on automotive experience, including the ability to disassemble vehicle components to install and evaluate accessories.
