Job Purpose
Reporting to the Dean of Admissions, the Transfer Enrollment Coordinator serves as a point of contact for prospective transfer students and their parents, answering questions and providing support as they move through the enrollment process, and collaborates with other university offices to enhance campus-wide support services for transferring students.
Job Summary
- Manages the transfer credit evaluation portal (TraCE) to ensure all courses are reviewed and updated and maintains communication with students, academic advisors, and the Office of Records and Registration as needed throughout the process.
- Helps students with enrollment-related tasks, including transcript collection, paying the new student fee and registering for orientation.
- Provides information on academic pathways when available.
- Contributes to a coordinated approach to transfer student enrollment by working cooperatively with the Admissions Office and University Communications and Marketing on processes and promotional/informational materials.
- Assists with the development of transfer articulation agreements; maintains communication with technical colleges; and provides training to faculty and staff on transfer agreements and processes.
- Participates in events for prospective students, including Transfer Information Sessions, Transfer Student Orientation, Technical College Transfer Events, Office of Admissions events, and Bridge Program Information Sessions.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Experience working with a college leadership organization or university admissions office.
- Public speaking and program coordination experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Slate software.
- Knowledge of college admissions and student recruitment.
- Knowledge of Winthrop's marketing/recruitment policies, practices and techniques preferred.
- Knowledge of counseling/guidance techniques.
- Effective presentation and oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and customer service skills.
- Ability to advise students on a wide range of topics.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, parents and the general public.
- Ability to travel to assigned off-campus locations.
