About the Position: This position is located with the Army Sustainment Command, Military Personnel Division, Rock Island, IL Responsibilities Manages Military Personnel Strength/Military Personnel Service Support (PSS) throughout agency. Analyzes military HR programs to determine needs of the Command that specifically includes standard levels of service. Interprets, develops, implements, and administers a variety of staff assignments in various military HR program areas. Accountable for providing technical advice and guidance regarding a wide variety of military HR programs. Develops guidance, procedures, and standards for new and/or changing program area(s). Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes applying a wide range of military human resources policies and procedures to manage military personnel actions and/or military strength requirements; providing advisory service to management on human resources procedures and issues; recommending corrective action to resolve problems where extensive changes in established procedures and methods may be required; and ensure proper management of military personnel and assists in the accuracy and maintenance of military databases and reporting systematic discrepancies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Decision Making Organizational Awareness Planning and Evaluating Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required.
