Ashland has an exciting opportunity for an Industrial Coatings Sales Manager to join our Europe Team. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company. This is a remote position, located within the EU and will report to Ashland’s Specialty Additives Sales Director for Europe. Responsibilities Growing Ashland’s Industrial Coatings Business in Europe; Main goal is to deliver sustainable, profitable growth. Leading all Industrial Coatings sales activities in the region. Providing management & leadership support to direct sellers managing strategic Industrial Coatings accounts as well as the selected Industrial Coatings distributors in the region. Representing sales on the Industrial Coatings Sales, Marketing, and Innovation team (SMI Team). Working with Europe’s New Product Sales Leader(s) to grow Ashland’s platform technology in Industrial Coatings. Delivering the region’s Industrial Coatings NPI (new product introduction) sales targets. Providing input into Ashland’s innovation process to identify new product & market opportunities. The ideal candidate will be expected to travel over 70% of the time to support and achieve the position’s objectives. Qualifications A BS degree in a technical field, Chemistry is preferred. Minimum 10 years selling experience in Industrial Coatings. Minimum 5 years sales management experience. Existing relationships with key Industrial Coatings customers in the region is preferred. Technical Communication skills… Ability to articulate one’s thoughts / opinions / recommendations, both orally & written; ability to take technical information and make it clear & easy to understand for multiple audiences (e.g., customers, conference/seminar attendees) Proficiency in key software programs - MS Office, SAP, SFDC, etc. Coachability / approachability… willing to take direct performance feedback (good or bad) and use it to personally improve. Must have a proven sales record and the ability to succeed in a technical and relationship-driven business. Must be highly self-motivated and be able to work independently. Must have personality traits that include integrity, tenacity, perseverance, empathy, and a can-do positive attitude.
