Position: Laboratory Technician I Location : Franklin Lakes, NJ Duration : 12+ Months contract Total Hours/week: 40.00 1st Shift Client: Medical Device Company Employment Type: Contract on W2 (Need US Citizens Or GC Holders Only) No H1b’s Description: The Laboratory Technician I Contractor I in the Materials Center of Excellence ("MatCOE") R&D group will be responsible for conducting testing /experiments; writing technical reports; supporting test request work flow; operation of equipment in the materials characterization and testing labs; contribute to the success of the MatCOE R&D group in the support of the expanding portfolio of the Medication Delivery Solutions business; ensure compliance with BD quality policies, procedures and practices through appropriate communication, training and education of sound quality assurance principles; ensure compliance with all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures.

Project Responsibilities o Lab Organization: Follow and support the improvement of the workflow process for the MatCOE R&D labs including instrument operation and maintenance. Work with lab owners to schedule upcoming servicing and calibrations. o Process Effectiveness: Ensure appropriate processes are followed for effective and timely stakeholder engagement and completion of assignments. o Innovation: Contribute to the development of creative and novel solutions to technical problems including test fixture and method development. o Customer Focus: Develop understanding of customer needs and processes to ensure relevant and innovative product development solutions. o Continuous Learning: Actively seek training to improve skills. Ensure technical lessons are reviewed, learned and disseminated. Actively teach and promote learning. Leadership o Accountability: Demonstrate strong and clear accountability for the successful and timely completion of assigned tasks. o R&D Communication: Hold and encourage frequent formal and informal communication within the team and the rest of the organization to ensure dissemination of important information.. o Influence Others: Developing interpersonal influence and persuasion skills. Required Qualifications o Associate's Degree in a Technical or Science Field o 0-5 years relevant experience in a technical discipline, or a combination of equivalent education and experience. o Experience with polymer characterization / testing instruments and equipment. o Training in laboratory safety and procedures. Desired Qualifications o Experience operating three or more specific instruments / equipment (including Instron mechanical tester; TGA; DSC; FTIR; rheometersRheometers, Profilometers; is preferred. o Good technical skills and judgment. o Basic understanding of disciplined product development processes, regulatory and quality requirements. o Good communication skills (written and verbal) o Strong fit with BD values. o Experience with basic statistical analysis and software (e.g. Minitab) preferred o Proficient in MS Office / Word / Excel / PowerPoint.
