Job Description:
SUMMARY
Responsible for reconciling various accounts andprojections of financial information and completing other special projects asneeded.
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS
Provides alllevels of management with useful and accurate financial information on atimely basis via verbal communication or written documentation
Performsquantitative analysis to assist management in reviewing/resolving businessissues and improving overall accuracy/efficiency
Assists with thepreparation and/or presentation of documentation for annual audit and anyinternal or external audits, reviews and site visits
Partners withCollege stakeholders to understand their underlying business practices to ensurethat appropriate internal controls are in place and that business activityis recorded in accordance with GAAP
Ensures anaccurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close, including amonthly review and analysis of assigned College funds and general ledgeraccounts
Identifies andresolves any issues or reconciling items related to general ledger balancesheet accounts
Inputs andmaintains appropriate information in the Banner accounting system moduleand other business systems in the department and recommends and/or assistswith implementation of enhancements and conversions
Prepares supportschedules and other analyses as needed for year-end audit purposes
Tracks andreconciles activity with external partners, including bookstore
Compiles andanalyzes financial information to prepare journal entries to accounts,such as accruals, corrections, charge backs, redistributions and otherstandard entries
Analyzes spendingassociated with Federal Financial Aid and submits reimbursement requeststo the Department of Education
Identifies andresolves any issues or reconciling items related in assigned restrictedfunds, including following up on related receivables and payables
Reviewsunrestricted funds, as well as high-level reviews of all College funds
Participates intraining with regard to College policies and procedures
Performs otherduties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATIONAND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field
Significant related experience may substitute for education
Minimum of one year of demonstrated experience in financial and/or management analysis and reporting
Demonstrated experience making sound decisions that affect a work unit or team
Demonstrated experience in a role requiring diverse problem-solving methods in a variety of situations
KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS and ABILITIES
Possess basic knowledge of fundamental GAAP concepts, practices and procedures and ability to apply in varied situations as it pertains to the departmental focus
Possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to effectively respond to requests from multiple levels of the College in various departments
Possess excellent organizational and prioritization skills with demonstrated attention to detail

Demonstrated experience with the Banner System (or equivalent program)
