We serve Public Sector customers who appreciate the convenience of shopping online. However, federal, state, and local procurement officials require solutions that fit how public entities operate. The Amazon Business team is dedicated to developing solutions that combine the selection, convenience, and value customers have come to know and love from Amazon, with new features and unique benefits tailored to them. Senior Account Representatives are responsible for building and managing their book of business, leveraging solution-selling, traditional and digital prospecting tactics, and supporting long-term strategic customer relationships following the initial prospect/onboarding and stabilization period. The primary areas of responsibility include prospecting, expert knowledge of features and products to create personalized solutions for each institution, and developing relationships with buying decision-makers across functional areas such as Information Technology, Facilities, and more. The Account Representative will ensure recommended solutions meet our customers’ procurement needs and will recommend approaches and alternatives that fit their environment, including but not limited to contracting and competitive requirements unique to public institutions, eProcurement integration, advanced payment, and automated reconciliation processes. The candidate will work closely with customers to manage deployment and ensure that our solutions are successfully adopted. Key job responsibilities: Meet or exceed targets for customer acquisition and customer spend adoption. Initiate prospecting and lead generation activities within Public Sector organizations. Assist customers with registration and present registered customers with Amazon Business account tours. Educate and network with key prospect and customer contacts. Relay market needs and requirements back to internal Amazon teams including Product, Management, Technical and Category Management teams. Drive customer satisfaction. Work closely with marketing, merchandising, business development, customer service, and other internal Amazon stakeholders. This is an inside sales role. Minimum Qualifications: BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience. 3+ years of B2B sales experience. Demonstrated track record of successfully identifying, developing, negotiating, and closing opportunities across a wide spectrum of customer engagement levels. Demonstrated track record of successfully positioning and selling solutions to new and existing customers and market segments. 5+ years of sales experience selling to Fortune 5000 senior leadership. Experience selling to procurement and/or supply chain roles. Expert use of MS Office Suite, CRMs (e.g., Salesforce.com) and other systems. Experience with customer-facing communication including leading in-person or virtual customer meetings, product demonstrations, or training. Demonstrated success identifying, prioritizing, developing, and growing a book of Public Sector and Government customer accounts. Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
