Our client is aprivately owned company specializing in building products, resources, and services, with headquarters located in Charlotte. Their core focus includes manufacturing particle boards made of bonded wood and delivering top-notch solutions to our clients. This is a hybrid opportunity with 3 days being in office and 2 days working from home.

Seeking a Cost Accountant who will play a pivotal role in the finance and manufacturing departments. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment, particularly in handling bills of material (BOMs), rolling standard costs, and managing inventory exposure.


Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with multiple plant leaders, acting as a liaison between finance and manufacturing teams.
  • Manage month-end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Utilize your expertise in cost accounting to optimize financial performance across various plants or sites.
  • Collaborate on the reimplemented OneStream platform, testing functionalities and providing valuable feedback for enhancements.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of cost-saving initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies related to cost accounting and financial reporting.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Proven experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with bills of material (BOMs), standard costs, and inventory management.
  • Strong communication skills for effective cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies; experience with SAP is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and problem-solving.

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
