Position Summary

The HR Coordinator at Miller Valentine plays a vital role in providing comprehensive HR administrative support for all associates of Miller Valentine including Miller Valentine Construction, MV Investment, and MV Services. Reporting to the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP), the HR Coordinator helps support various areas of Human Resources that are both behind the scenes and highly visible within the organization. These duties include handling a variety of tasks related to HR processes, systems, benefits, workers' compensation, reporting, audits, associate relations, and general administrative duties.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

HRIS System, Payroll & Compensation, Benefits, & Workers Compensation

- Assist with the maintenance of associate records in the HRIS system

- Assist in preparing timekeeping data by assembling spreadsheets and uploads

- Coordinate completion and approvals of timekeeping data

- Assist in coordination of Personnel Action Forms (PAF)

- Reconcile monthly benefits invoices for HR service providers including Health & Welfare

- Assist associates with entering life events changes in Paycom by providing clear instructions

- Assist with the timely funding of payroll and 401k on a weekly basis

- Approve and process life events

- Answer basic benefit administration questions based on plan documents, escalating complex inquiries as needed

- Assist in the maintenance of the ongoing payroll budget

- Support the MV Wellbeing Program administration

- Assist with running and distributing standard reports

- Complete installment payments related to workers' compensation

- Provide reports for regular review of workers' comp coding

- Respond to internal requests for EMR (Experience Modification Rate) information

- Assist with running and distributing standard reports

HR Administration

- Support in collecting materials for audits under the guidance of the HRBP

- Manage HR inbox for internal and external requests

- Provide answers to basic HR queries and escalating when needed

- Coordinate pre-boarding for new hires including: background checks, drug screens, employment verification, document completion

- Support the setup of new hires in the HRIS

- Support coordination with department leaders on new hires including technology setup

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

To excel as the HR Coordinator at Miller Valentine, the ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent experience
    • At least 2+ years of experience in HR administrative support role
    • Proficiency in HR systems and tools, including HRIS and Payroll systems
    • Strong understanding of HR processes
    • Exposure to areas of Human Resources such as payroll, timekeeping, benefits administration, handling associate inquiries
    • Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail
    • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage multiple responsibilities
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
    • SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus
ATTENDANCE & TRAVEL

The HR Coordinator role at Miller Valentine requires regular attendance at the Cincinnati, Ohio office. Occasional travel to the Dayton office may be necessary.
