Job Summary Michigan Medicine is seeking an experienced and innovative Well-Being Research and Analytics Lead to spearhead efforts in uncovering insights within healthcare workforce data and drive well-being initiatives at an organizational level. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in research methods, data analytics, employee well-being metrics, and survey design. Your expertise will be crucial in shaping a workforce that fosters a culture of well-being, organizational well-being and resilience among the Michigan Medicine community. Responsibilities* Collaborate with the Press Ganey vendor to manage well-being questions and metrics for the Vital Voices employment engagement surveys. Lead data innovation efforts and collaborations across campus, focusing on well-being data collection and utilization. Facilitate well-being research projects and manage Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions. Take a leading role in supporting and organizing grant submissions and other funding opportunities. Provide research support and strategic insights to the Well-Being Office and its members. Develop and maintain partnerships with key campus research entities. Lead large-scale survey initiatives, including participation in the Physician Wellness Academic Consortium, to systematically measure well-being outcomes. Communicate strategic insights from data analysis and research to university leadership, directly influencing policies related to culture, workforce well-being, retention, DEI, and leadership development. Design and execute large-scale basic and applied research, delivering evidence-based solutions to stakeholders and senior leaders. Engage with cross-functional teams to integrate and apply data insights into practical improvements and initiatives. Lead Office of Well-being research dissemination efforts (create abstracts, peer-review publications, conference presentations) for the Office of Well-being. Manage the research partnership program, the Michigan Medicine Well-being Research Collaborative. Required Qualifications* Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience; preferably in health science or a related field. A Master's degree or higher is strongly preferred. Six or more years of extensive experience in applied organizational analytics, survey design and analysis, and employee listening strategies. Deep expertise in mixed methods (e.g. quantitative and qualitative) research, stakeholder management, program, and policy evaluation. Strong understanding of methods for measurement development and validation (measurement theory, latent variable modeling, scale development, exploratory factor analysis, and structural equation modeling). Demonstrated ability to forge cross-functional partnerships. Competence in dashboarding, data visualization, and data storytelling. Ability to oversee multiple initiatives simultaneously. Skill in translating complex data into actionable recommendations and strategies. Proven track record of effective collaboration with design, product management, engineering, and data science teams. Experience in identifying and securing funding for grant initiatives. Alignment with Michigan Medicine's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Desired Qualifications* A PhD or MD is preferred. Familiarity with Michigan Medicine's systems, policies, and procedures. Experience with lean and project management. Proficiency in data analytics programs such as Toad, Tableau, etc. Knowledge of principles, procedures, policies, and standards of Michigan Medicine, University of Michigan Medical School, and University of Michigan Medical Group.
