Responsibilities:
Job Roles

Safety

  • Manages processes effectively in regard to employee/patient
  • Record Keeping
  • Maintains all required records, reports, statistics, logs, files and other documents as required, including but not limited to payroll, schedules and status changes.

Department Management

  • Maintains 24 hour accountability for department, making independent decisions to implement strategies and programs for patient care.
  • Delegates authority and accountability to staff to ensure optimal outcomes and staff engagement.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of unit/department based programs and processes to ensure optimal outcomes.

Process Improvement

  • Promotes a culture of process improvement by establishing unit/department based programs that supports the systems process improvement goals.
  • Actively participates on system-wide or hospital-based

Staffing

  • Manages the unit/department effectively in regards to staffing, and staff

Role Specific Responsibilities

  • Plans and implements fund development strategies to build a strong base of philanthropic support through major gifts, foundation and corporate support, special events, and grant activity.
  • Prepares detailed annual plans for implementation to achieve Fund Development objectives and initiatives.
  • Conducts ongoing development evaluation and environmental assessment to identify future directions that will allow the SIH to maximize its strengths and opportunities, while addressing its weaknesses.
  • Collaborates with SIH, SIH Medical Group and both the SIH and HMC Foundation Boards to establish fundraising priorities, and identify and implement appropriate fundraising strategies.
  • Builds relationships, solicits and stewards Major and Planned Gifts for the SIH and HMC Foundations.
  • Manages the SIH development strategies, including the supervision of staff.
  • Develops, implements, and oversees the SIH donor recognition program, in accordance with SIH policies.
  • Directs, in consultation with SIH Marketing and Communications, the production of fundraising support materials (printed, audiovisual or display)
  • Oversees and maintains prospective donor data base and systems for acknowledging, receipting, and stewarding donor gifts.
  • Represents SIH and SIH Medical Group in the community through public
  • Oversees the planning, administration, and success of SIH and HMC Foundation fundraising special events.
  • Oversees the documentation of Fund Development department activities and initiatives to SIH administration and the SIH and HMC Foundation Board of Directors.
  • Assists in other duties as assigned by the Community Affairs - Chief Development Executive.
