A key member of the performance marketing team, the Strategic Account Manager will represent the company externally with key accounts and serve as the voice of these accounts to internal stakeholders. The role is responsible for activation of new accounts, and supporting business development to cultivate thriving, profitable, new strategic partnerships. The role will also support the planning and forecasting of business KPIs and enact strategies to meet or exceed business goals tied to performance.

To be successful in the role, the incumbent will be analytical and intellectually curious, while also being highly relational and able to forge strong working relationships with key accounts and internal stakeholders. She / he will be driven to optimize performance at each stage of the sales funnel, analyzing data and surfacing ideas to improve the business impact of each partner and lead generation program. They will be eager to learn and take a proactive approach to understanding the company's business model and operating environment. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in an Enterprise account management role serving Fortune 500 companies; with some experience in the life insurance industry, or another direct-to-consumer protection-oriented business.

Key Responsibilities:

Own day-to-day success for assigned accounts, including funnel performance, reporting, growth initiatives, and identifying and troubleshooting issues that arise
Function as the liaison between assigned accounts and internal teams, including Marketing, Sales, Technology, Operations, Finance, and Legal / Compliance
Take ownership of strategic communication for assigned accounts and conduct regular business reviews to drive the growth agenda
Ensure accurate and timely billing and account reconciliation, and other account management activities including but not limited to compliance, audits, claims substantiation, etc.
Document timely and accurately current risks, issues, opportunities, and next actions in Strategic Partnerships database
Maintain and communicate a marketing calendar with assigned accounts
Working with internal teams, develop and deploy digital marketing campaigns to provide additional value to assigned accounts
Working with data and analytics teams, actively monitor campaign results and provide relevant, timely insights, surface issues, and identify opportunities - and communicate internally and with assigned accounts
Manage the onboarding and activation of new accounts
Support business development by filtering prospective partners using established criteria, initiating outreach and appointment setting, and conducting preliminary research to support business development meetings
Assist in developing strategic business development presentations and marketing materials
Support planning and forecasting by recommending baseline and stretch scenarios for lead volume and conversion for assigned accounts

Qualifications:

8+ years of proven experience managing strategic B2B2C or B2B accounts required; life insurance, or another direct-to-consumer protection-oriented business, strongly preferred.
Bachelor's degree in a business, marketing, or related field required.
Interpersonal savvy and exceptional verbal and written communication skills with experience presenting to diverse audiences at multiple levels, from executive management to associates.
Strong strategic acumen, including the ability to step into the account's shoes, understand their business objectives and operating environment, and craft solutions that complement and advance the account's strategy.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to listen, probe for hidden objections and issues and overcome them, and a strong orientation to partner satisfaction.
Demonstrated ability to work with internal and external stakeholders at multiple levels to accomplish goals.
Strong results orientation with ability to balance professionalism and persistence with the pursuit of revenue growth
Curious, analytical mindset that constantly seeks to understand "what happened," "why did that happen," "what does that mean for us and the account," and "what should we do next?"
Familiarity with digital marketing tactics and funnel performance analysis.
Strong project management skills.
