What You'll Do

As the Account Payable specialist, you will perform the day-to-day activities for the accounts payable function and serve as the primary point of contact for the REMPREX mechanical group. You will assist with completing payments, adhering to payment schedules, and controlling expenses. As the AP Specialist, you will ensure payments are received, processed, and verified in addition to assisting with reconciling invoices. This role is highly collaborative in nature due to the inherent need to build strong relationships with leadership in different areas. You will work to secure payment expenditures, assist in account reconciliation, and resolve any discrepancies. The AP Specialist will be highly organized and process oriented in order to maintain accurate files and payment records.

Responsibilities

Track all payments and expenditures, including purchase orders, invoices and statements

Reconcile processed work through verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances

Maintain accurate records and control reports and ensure proper maintenance, filing, and storage

Pay vendors through scheduling paychecks and ensuring payment is received for outstanding credit

Respond to all vendor inquiries on behalf of the finance department

Prepare analyses of accounts and produce weekly reports for review by leadership

Focus on continuous improvement of the payment process

Contribute to the development and improvements of Accounts Payable processes and procedures

Assist in preparation of business activity reports and financial forecasts

Perform ad-hoc analysis and projects as requested

What You'll Need

Required:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field of study

2 or more years of accounting experience in the accounts payable function

Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced environment

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Proven time management skill with a proven ability to meet set deadlines

Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate

Flexibility to work extended hours as needed

Proficient understanding of Microsoft Office Suite with strong knowledge of Excel

Preferred:

Experience with Oracle NetSuite

Familiarly with Stampli (invoice management software)

Location

This role is based out of our corporate location in Lisle, IL and offers a hybrid work schedule of three in-office days and two remote.
