JOB DESCRIPTION

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with email marketing through HubSpot, building effective campaigns to nurture clients through the funnel, and a strong understanding of our target demographic to build a strategy that converts

The Marketing Specialist will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies to increase brand awareness, generate leads, and drive sales. This role requires wearing multiple hats and managing various marketing practices, including project management, email marketing, SEO, and performance marketing. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong execution skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.

This is a hybrid role. We work out of a centralized office in Kendall Square, the technical heart of Cambridge, MA. Were looking for candidates who can commute into our office every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and Execute Marketing Strategies:

  • Create and implement marketing plans that align with business goals.
  • Conduct market research to identify target audiences and trends.
  • Manage a monthly content calendar for social media channels and the website.

Project Management:

  • Oversee and manage marketing projects from inception to completion.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure timely delivery of marketing initiatives.
  • Work closely with a design team to create visually appealing imagery on given deadlines.

Email Marketing:

  • Design and execute email marketing campaigns to engage and nurture leads.
  • Monitor and analyze campaign performance, making data-driven adjustments as needed.
  • Create an email marketing funnel for existing and new contacts.
  • Stay ahead of important event dates in order to disseminate email announcements and promotions in a timely manner.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO):

  • Develop and implement SEO strategies to improve organic search rankings.
  • Conduct keyword research and optimize website content for search engines.
  • Work closely with a technical team to optimize backend SEO on the website.
  • Employ effective SEO-informed writing strategies with web content.

Performance Marketing:

  • Plan and execute performance marketing campaigns across various channels (e.g., PPC, social media ads).
  • Track and analyze campaign performance metrics to optimize ROI.
  • Manage advertising budgets and make recommendations for improvements.

Content Creation:

  • Generate compelling content for various marketing channels, including blogs, social media, webpages, and newsletters.
  • Collaborate with designers and copywriters to produce high-quality marketing materials.
  • Stay ahead of content trends as they become popular on social media.

Analytics and Reporting:

  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for all marketing activities.
  • Use data to measure success and identify areas for improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a marketing role, preferably in a startup or fast-paced environment. Strong understanding of email marketing best practices, including deliverability, list management, and compliance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to think outside the box and develop innovative email marketing strategies.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in email marketing platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Mailchimp).
  • Solid understanding of SEO best practices and tools (e.g., Google Analytics, SEMrush).
