We specialize in custom-engineered, fixed tilt and single-axis tracking systems for the commercial and utility-scale solar markets. Our in-house expertise is solution driven to engineering, manufacture, and delivery best in class fixed tilt and single axis tracker products, along with providing our clients with engineering assistance from geotechnical and pullout testing to detailed field and layout design, installation training, and project commissioning, guaranteeing solutions that address the unique challenges of each site. With a 17-year history in the solar industry and with a portfolio exceeding 4 GW across 40+ U.S. states, 9 Canadian provinces, and international markets, FLEXRACK by Qcells is a proven leader in the solar mounting industry.
Summary
The Regional Sales Director will drive sales growth and market expansion for a leading solar racking company, focusing on developing strategic relationships with key customers and partners. This role will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, managing the sales pipeline, and achieving revenue targets within the assigned region. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in solar or renewable energy sales, with expertise in racking solutions and a proven track record of closing large-scale projects. Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills are essential to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders. This position reports to the Head of FlexRack Sales, or another management personnel that the CEO of the Company may designate. This position is hybrid based out of Cleveland, OH and remote office and working hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00am to 5:00pm or 9:00am to 6:00pm local time. This position is expected to travel up to 30%.
Essential Job Function & Responsibilities
Account Management & Client Relationships
Cultivate and strengthen long-term relationships with key decision-makers at strategic accounts.
Develop and execute strategic account plans to maximize revenue and market share within the assigned region.
Identify and target key accounts, including EPCs, developers, and Asset Owners, for significant growth opportunities.
Analyze customer data and market trends to proactively identify and address customer needs.
Collaborate with sales executives and management to develop and implement strategic sales approaches.
Support marketing efforts to promote product and service features, benefits, and value propositions.
Attend industry conferences and trade shows to promote products, expand the company's network, and build relationships.
Research and identify key contacts within target accounts to generate interest and drive sales.
Maintain and expand a database of prospects within assigned territories and business lines.
Sales Execution & Performance
Lead the sales process from initial contact through contract negotiation and closing.
Develop and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals tailored to the specific needs of key accounts.
Negotiate credit terms, pricing, and prepare sales order reports and documentation.
Close sales and consistently meet or exceed quotas and targets.
Utilize Salesforce or other Customer Management Systems (CMS) to track and manage leads, opportunities, and sales performance.
Demonstrate a proven track record of exceeding sales quotas, particularly in the solar racking industry.
Regular attendance, in accordance with company's attendance policy and supervisory assignment, is an essential job duty requirement for this position.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by Management.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree required, preferably within engineering or business fields
8-10 years of solar sales
A proven track record of fixed tilt and especially strong with single axis tracker sales and possess existing relationships at the executive level within customer organizations
Proficient understanding of the solar energy market, including solar tracking technology, market trends, and competitive landscape.
Strong technical understanding of solar PV systems and related components.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
