Summary

Processes orders for instruments and supplies received by mail, telephone, email, or fax from customer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Receives and processes domestic and foreign orders via telephone, mail, email, and fax.
  • Edits orders received for price and nomenclature.
  • Informs customer of unit prices, shipping date, anticipated delays, and any additional information needed by customer.
  • Receives and checks customer complaints.
  • Confers with production, sales, shipping, warehouse, or common carrier personnel to expedite or trace missing or delayed shipments.
  • Enters data into computer to determine total cost for customer and prints sales orders.
  • Files copy of foreign orders received according to customer file.
  • Routes orders to departments for filling and follows up on orders to ensure delivery by specified dates.
  • Prepares invoices and shipping documents for foreign customers.
  • Recommends type of shipping method.
  • Checks on order status and tracking information when requested by the customer.
  • Verifies customer stain credit when requested by the customer.
  • Assists with related special projects, as required.

Qualifications

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
