The School of Advance International Studies (SAIS) is seeking a Sr. HR Coordinator who will provide a wide range of human resources support to managers, supervisors, faculty, staff, and learners covering the following: recruitment and employment, payroll, information management, benefits interpretation, personnel records management, HR policy interpretation. The position reports directly to the HR Director. Specific Duties & Responsibilities The primary point of contact for all requisitions and acts as the liaison to the university recruiters and compensation analysts as it relates to personnel requisitions for the school. Assists and advises employees on sick time, vacation time, holidays, leave of absence, family medical leave, payroll, tuition reimbursement, flexible fringe benefits, deductions, etc. Monitors time and attendance forms for staff via E210 system. Communicates with staff and supervisors regarding any time discrepancies, overtime requests, and use of E210 codes. Develop and review job descriptions with supervisor/manager/faculty and suggest changes based on understanding of area and need. Assists with answering questions and counseling faculty, students, and staff on the interpretation of HR policy and procedures. Gathers sensitive information for personnel matters. Responsible for exit interviews for terminating or transferring employees, retrieval of badges, answering questions relating to final paycheck, etc. Coordinates annual performance review process and communicates with supervisors regarding completion of reviews in Success Factors. Uses guidelines to determine annual increases; communicates changes to staff. Responsible for the distribution of 120-day reviews from HR to supervisor. Maintains and creates personnel records for staff. May perform preliminary interview of candidates. Provides resources to recruitment and compensation staff. Coordinate placement of temporary staff with Randstad as needed. Responsible for timely submission of all school ISR's. Verify necessary paperwork has been received from new faculty, students, and staff for processing of I9 in compliance with university-established procedures. Special Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Very strong organizational skills, analytical and problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to effectively interact with all levels of university employees as well as external affiliates. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or other related field Three years related experience Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula. Preferred Qualifications Experience in an academic setting preferred. SAP experience preferred.
