Job Summary:

The Marketing/Communication Specialist assists in the development, planning, and implementation of communication, media, and marketing strategies. This position will have dual responsibilities working with the Dorchester 2 Education Foundation non-profit and the school district. Performance expectations include the ability to work independently and collaboratively to conceptualize and develop informational materials, videos, media campaigns, marketing programs and various other special projects that advance the vision of both the school district and the education foundation.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Coordinate marketing campaigns and strategies to expand business partnerships.

2. Provide presentations in and around the community to the School District, PTO's, businesses, clubs, etc. to increase awareness of the Education Foundation's existence and to obtain potential donations.

3. Track and create acknowledgement letters for all donations to the school district and education foundation.

4. Maintain & update school donor and alumni database information.

5. Submit grant requests and necessary grant reports to private foundations and state educational departments.

6. Coordinates assignments with a wide variety of stake holders to ensure effective communication on behalf of the district.

7. Coordinate layout, design, and production of district publications.

8. Lead and/or assist in the administration of student and staff recognition programs, such as Teacher of the Year, Academic Awards Program, Classified Employee of the Year, Employee Retiree Celebration, Graduation, etc.

9. Lead and/or assist with administering the district volunteer program, business partner program, and senior citizen program to include producing handbooks and serving as resource for school liaisons.

10. Develop the graphic design for information videos, reels social media, special events/projects, and other material for marketing.

11. Assist with the creation of social media content.

12. Designs, prepares, and edits district publications including newsletters, recruitment brochures, programs for special events and other publications.

13. Assists with the preparation of a variety of materials (reports, press releases, articles, crisis communications, etc.) for documenting activities, providing written references, and conveying information in a timely manner.
