Test Engineering Manager

We are looking for a hands-on manager for our test lab and test engineering team. In this role, you will support the business units by managing and delivering on all test aspects for production and new business strategies.

In this role, you would typically:

  • Lead the design, manufacture, and validation of test equipment to support new product introduction and improve performance and efficiency of existing legacy equipment;
  • Lead the team of test engineers and technicians through multiple projects to adequately support production, productivity improvements, and new product development;
  • Foster the growth and professional development of the test engineering team by effectively recruiting, managing, motivating, and developing staff;
  • Coordinates engineering, validation, and qualification testing in the test lab and at outside test facilities;
  • Manage the maintenance of test equipment and tool calibration for the facility
We require:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, or equivalent field from an accredited university.
  • 5 years of experience in electronic or electromechanical test development.
  • 3 years of leadership experience in an engineering or test development role.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 5%.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.
Eligibility Requirements:

This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. Whippany Actuation Systems will require proof of status before employment.

Desired Characteristics:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Systems Engineering;
  • Experience leading or managing multiple short- and long-term test projects simultaneously.
  • Strong team building skills and ability to counsel and motivate staff.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to bring assignments to a successful completion;
  • Exhibits effective leadership qualities, self-motivates and demonstrates a can-do attitude
