What You’ll Do Responsible for managing a team of employees to provide thought leadership and execution for a number of pivotal functions within Corporate Risk Management including key areas of Risk Reporting & Analytics, Coordination of the Risk Appetite and KRI setting process, Management of the Enterprise-Wide Risk Survey and Risk Inventory, as well as Development and Communication of the Baseline Economic Scenario for Internal Planning and CCAR purposes. The role coordinates with multiple business units and interacts with senior executives to aggregate and analyze risk information by developing quantitative analytics, analyzing risk data, and enhancing the reporting the reporting infrastructure to develop and deliver meaningful risk reporting that captures risk/performance data across the enterprise to the Risk Committee and the Board of Directors. Works under minimal supervision. Develops and coaches teams to be able to identify, manage, and escalate risk, and effectively manages risk within the teams you oversee. How You’ll Do It Own/manage the process to capture and report timely, accurate and comprehensive operational risk events data. This includes implementing and maintaining GRC system for events and continuing to identify sources of and processes to collect operational loss events, operational exposures and credit boundary events. Work with data providers including business units, business unit risk officers and corporate functions to ensure data quality and provide guidance and training for the collection process. As significant risk events occur that impact DFS, work with business and functional areas through the Corporate Notifiable Event Process (CNEP) to escalate to senior executives, analyze causative factors, determine and evaluate control failures and make recommendations for improvement. Coordinate with business units any remediation activities, including documentation of action plans; monitor remediation progress. Ensure lessons learned are communicated across the DFS organization, as appropriate. Analyze internal operational risk events including trending and identifying potential themes to prepare actionable reports that helps mitigate the frequency or severity of potential events for discussion at quarterly ORC meetings. Enhance the use of external event information from public database and consortium to better understand trends and emerging issues and incorporate into internal reporting. Manage data extracts from the database/GRC system for reporting to industry data consortium, FR Y-14 reporting to the Federal Reserve, and for the capital modeling and stress testing process.
