We are looking for a detail-oriented work process manager who will oversee and coordinate the daily operations of the accounting department and will report to the Director of Finance. The Accounting Manager’s duties include training internal controls and processes to accounting staff and team members from other departments. To be successful as an Accounting Manager at QE, you should possess strong leadership skills, have a sound knowledge of accounting principles and practices, and be able to process large amounts of numerical data while demonstrating excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

Maintain financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.

Preparation of journal entries, reconciliations and analyses as required including daily cash and bank reconciliations.

Perform monthly/quarterly/annual closing activities and assist in preparation of financial statements.

Maintain all fixed assets and depreciation schedules.

Assess internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas and assist in design of more effective procedures and processes as necessary.

Coordinate audit by external accounting firm and prepare necessary audit workpapers.

Perform other various accounting functions as assigned, including sales and property tax filings, management reporting, and cost-savings analysis.

Oversee daily transactional processing within the Finance department and provide updates to management on workflow within the department.

Support accounting team as needed, including manufacturing variance review, accounts payable and accounts receivable review/postings.

What we need:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.

Public accounting experience preferred.

5+ years of increasing manufacturing and/or general accounting responsibility.

At least 1 year supervisory or management experience.

Strong understanding of manufacturing accounting and variance analysis.

ERP systems experience required; JD Edwards is preferred.

High proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office Suite tools.

Need to be organized and attentive to details.

Excellent verbal and writing communication skills.

Comfortable to work without direct supervision, and capable of efficiently managing own tasks and time as well as the workflow of the team.

Salary commensurate with experience. We provide a competitive employment package which includes bonus incentives, medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance. In addition, a 401k with a 100% match on 3% plus 50% up to 6%.
