As Credit Analyst you will be responsible for managing the new account process. You will be the main Credit Department contact within the new account setup process, working directly with internal and external sales personnel for all Columbia Sportswear Company brands, SalesForce and Customer Master. You'll coordinate review and revision of information for new and existing accounts, manage credit, collections and reporting for region or subset of accounts. Further, you will act as a continuous improvement champion for the credit department, seeking ways to improve processes and add automation for efficiency gains. Here you'll lead the implementation of approved projects and train cross functional partners on changes. HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE Analyze and process new account credit applications, financial documents, correspondence and credit reports. Position has authority up to $500,000, beyond established authority level recommendations sent to Credit Manager or Director of Credit. Collect financial statements from customers or other Credit Department personnel and conduct financial analysis of their financial statements to determine credit worthiness of current and potential customers. Monitor publicly traded customers on a quarterly basis including listening to their earnings calls and alerting the Director of Credit and/or Credit Manager of any adverse changes to the financial health of the customer. Monitor our portfolio of accounts with our credit reporting agencies and keep abreast of their email alerts regarding our customers. Communicate with potential new customers to request additional information, security instruments, or to answer questions related to the credit decision surrounding their credit application. Prepare monthly reports to sales management for all brands by territory of all new accounts opened and their volume to track growth by region. Prepare summarized version for inclusion in the credit department month end report sent to senior management. YOU ARE Able to maintain positive open lines of communication with all Columbia Sportswear management, staff and other departments in order to contribute to the smooth flow of information and efficient operation of the organization. Skilled in ensuring compliance with credit processes as well as adherence to established corporate policies and internal controls including, control over all facets of acquiring and maintaining security files. Customer service oriented, answering questions from customers or sales personnel concerning their accounts. Collaborative, applying training to Sales Representatives and other cross functional partners in the process and credit requirements for opening new accounts. YOU HAVE Requires Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field along with 3+ years experience working in credit, collections, accounting, and/or finance. Experience in credit assessment and analysis, involving varied and complex financial statements. Applied knowledge of financial reports analysis and a good understanding of financial/credit indicators with the ability to interpret the information from a risk assessment perspective. Excellent working knowledge and experience using Microsoft applications, specifically Word, Excel, Power Point; experience with SAP highly desired.
