The Director of Payroll will be responsible for managing and overseeing the payroll operations of the company, including time keeping, payroll processing, general ledger, payroll taxes, internal controls and data integrity, and standard operating procedure development. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader that thrives in a fast-paced environment and can refine and grow the payroll infrastructure necessary to support a fast-growing business while maintaining world class customer service.

The Payroll Director will work closely with Finance, Human Resources and Benefits. This role supervises and coordinates the payroll aspects of taxation and payment of employees. The Director resolves highly complex compensation, tax, and benefits problems and serves as the primary payroll contact for the external auditors. Also the Payroll Director will create and implement policies and procedures to improve internal controls and make the payroll process more efficient and accurate.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for all US payroll operations for nearly 7,000 employees in nearly 50 states and paid under 36 FEINS on a weekly and semi-monthly basis.
  • Supervise the preparation of all payrolls including validating and reconciling payroll data to ensure accurate payroll payments, reporting, and records.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations as well as timeliness and accuracy of required federal and state filings.
  • ccountable for payroll data related to the 401k, income tax reporting, equity compensation and workers compensation audits.
  • ccountable for developing, growing and leading payroll processing and payroll tax teams.
  • Design, develop and implement payroll policies and procedures to ensure timely, legally compliant, accurate and efficient processing and strong internal controls.
  • ct as ADP Next Gen subject matter expert and utilize the payroll dashboards/analytics to support business strategy and decision making.
  • Identification, mitigation and remediation of issues, findings and control gaps. Manage escalation as needed.
  • Focuses on continuously improving service levels.
  • Participate in the integration and onboarding of newly acquired companies.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualification(s):
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to see the big picture.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the broad range of federal and state employment laws and regulations.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources or related field required.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is preferred
  • Ten (10) years or more of Payroll or Human Capital Management experience required.


Level of Effort:

Working Hours: Full time, 40 hours, this is an onsite role.
