Job Description The role of the Human Resources Assist is to provide administrative support and assist mine management and the human resources department relative to the preparation and timely distribution of appropriate communication documents and records. Maintain a positive attitude towards salaried and hourly employees and visitors. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Idle Day scheduling per the UMWA contract Maintain sign up sheets and Idle Day Rosters Send out pre-scheduled days off report weekly to operations Data Entry for hourly employees’ attendance Attendance control – monitor all attendance programs for hourly personnel and deliver communications for progressive discipline. Assist employees with HR issues. Contribute information for grievances. Collect salaried weekly timesheets and send to timekeeping weekly. Responsible for the weekly food and drink orders. Review hourly return to work forms. Log daily call offs and monitor attendance for AWOL’s Organize breakfast and/or lunches for special events (i.e. mine tours, meetings, etc.) Deliver checks bi-weekly to all surface sites Manage the Cintas uniforms – ordering new hires, collecting terminations, etc. Collect company equipment from terminated employees Assign and maintain lockers for hourly and salary Other duties as assigned by management Qualifications: Prefer bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, or related field Prefer 2-5 years' experience in Human Resources or related field.
