To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Payroll Tax Analyst located in Austin, TX.

Reporting to the Tax Manager, the Payroll Tax Analyst will be responsible for reviewing tax adjustments and working with a third party vendor to ensure the accurate and timely filing and remittance of payroll tax payments with local, state, federal and provincial entities and also working with the payroll processing team to audit the payroll.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Research and Register Tax accounts for Local County and City Withholding
  • Assist with the tax reconciliation after each payroll processing and off cycle
  • Address inquiries and resolve discrepancies related to payroll taxes
  • Provide technical instructions to employees on how to update their tax withholding forms within the payroll software
  • Remain in contact with UKG regarding cases with Federal and State agencies
  • Review, research and approve cases for Amendments, and Tax notices
  • Staying up to date on Tax regulation and compliance changes
  • Collaborate with cross-functioning teams for accurate reporting
  • Partnering with accounting for reconciliation of tax fallouts, tax refunds and tax rate recalculations
  • Managing the 3rd party tax payment services with UKG
  • Ability to decipher whether the company has dormant accounts and in need of closure, protesting an unemployment rate, and ability to analyze whether a voluntary contribution can lower the UE rate
  • Maintain and organize the electronic payroll tax records: i.e., Power of Attorney documents, registration forms, proof of employer tax ID's, and tax notices
  • Download and Reconcile the Quarterly Tax packages against payroll tax history
  • Verify and confirm reverse wire amounts against payroll software reporting for accuracy
  • Ability to continuously improve established BI reporting to enhance reporting output
  • Assist in tax audits initiated by tax agencies.
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
  • 4 - 6 years of experience as a Payroll Tax Analyst
  • Understanding taxes for relocation, resident & non-resident visa holders, and restricted stock
  • Experience and Knowledge of tax filing preparation and filing with Federal and State agency
  • UKG or similar payroll provider experience
