The HR Generalist at Elephant & Company will be the primary point of contact for candidates and employees throughout the entire employment lifecycle for our four taprooms. This role will involve a variety of tasks across the HR spectrum, including recruitment and onboarding, training, employee relations, performance management, payroll, and benefits administration.

Key Responsibilities:

Recruitment:

  • Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified candidates.
  • Review resumes, conduct phone screens, and coordinate interviews to assess candidate suitability.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and ensure alignment on candidate profiles.
  • Manage the applicant tracking system (ATS) to track candidate progress and maintain accurate records.
Onboarding:
  • Coordinate and facilitate new employee orientation sessions to introduce company policies, procedures, and culture.
  • Liaise with various departments to ensure all necessary equipment, access, and resources are provided to new hires.
  • Conduct check-ins with new employees to address any questions or concerns, facilitate a smooth transition into their roles, and gather feedback to improve the recruitment and onboarding process continually.
Employee Relations
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee concerns and issues, providing guidance and support.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment through regular communication, feedback, and surveys.
Performance Management
  • Assist managers in setting clear and achievable performance goals.
  • Support the performance review process.
Benefits Administration
  • Manage employee enrollment in health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.
  • Manage open enrollment process annually ensuring ACA compliance.
Training and Development
  • Coordinate orientation and facilitate additional training courses for position-specific training.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in HR practices and implement new initiatives as needed.
Payroll Administration
  • Ensure timecards are processed timely and accurately.
  • Administer any employment changes to be reflected in payroll.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in human resources is preferred.
  • SHRM or HRCI Certification is preferred.
  • Proven experience in recruiting and/or onboarding, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous experience administering payroll.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and build relationships with candidates, employees, and hiring managers.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in Paylocity HRIS and Google Workspace
  • Experience in the food and beverage industry or a manufacturing environment is a plus.
