Vipo seeks an experienced and motivated Business Development Manager to help grow sales in the United States. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing current customers and identifying new customers and markets. As Business Development Manager you will be assigned to work through the Toledo, Ohio office. You will be responsible for sales throughout the U.S. with a focus on military markets. Vipo provides advanced rubber and polymer solutions for thermal, fire, and corrosion protection for oil and gas, aerospace, military, automotive, and industrial markets. Vipo is headquarter in Norway and serves a global customer base with production and sales offices throughout the world.

Position Duties:

Managing current customers.

o Act as primary liaison between customers and Vipo internal groups including engineering, quality, and accounting.

o Function as point contact for customer inquiries, quotes, bid submission, negotiation, complaints, and account management.

o Maintain relationships by understanding customer current and future needs through personal contact and market research.

o Actively engage with customers via onsite visits, phone conferences, and meetings at trade shows, industry days, and marketing events.

o Keep abreast of industry military trends through relevant organizations, tradeshows, magazines, internet, and discussions with customers.

Identifying new customers and business opportunities.

o Prospect for new customers based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, referrals, and other sources.

o Conduct market research as needed to identify industry and military trends and develop competitive analysis.

Planning and reporting

o Integrate knowledge of customers, industry and pricing to formulate sales and marketing plans.

o Collaborating with internal groups to ensure sustained growth and account management.

o Conduct analysis on lost bids and formulate improvement strategies.

o Prepare and compile customer and sales-related data via CRM.

o Assist in sales forecasting.

Requirements:

Bachelors degree in Sales, Marketing, Business or Engineering experience may be substituted.

Valid Driver's License.

Ability to pass pre-employment screening.

Able to travel (overseas and domestic travel).

Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts as they relate to Vipo products.

Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Working familiarity of Salesforce and other CRM tools.

At least 5 years direct business development or account management experience in B2B preferred.

Familiarity with DoD and/or Federal Government Civilian Agency business development and capture is a plus.

Ability to lead and manage all aspects of the sales process.

Ability to advocate for clients and business partners.

Entrepreneurial, forward-thinking mindset and motivation to rapidly build new business.

Strong interpersonal skills, bias to action and ability to tackle challenges with creative and timely solutions.

Strong problem-solving skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

A successful track record of presenting information effectively and professionally one-on-one and in small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
