Description

Serves one by cultivating relationships with account contacts to create intentional connections for their needs with the services provided by the Conference Center.

Responsibilities

Direct Sales: Generates prospective calls and contacts target and key accounts. Achieves personal sales goals as assigned quarterly and annually.
Customer Account Support: Confer with customers and other members of the sales team as needed to insure event details, such as space requirements, inter-departmental communications, time schedule, food service, and unique requirements are executed properly
Communication & Personal Development: Confer with the Director on a regular basis regarding account status, overall sales activity, and any service or operational problem impacting an account
Other Sales Department Activities: Participate in and support other sales department activities including weekly Sales meetings, exhibiting at conferences and trade shows, etc.

Ability to sincerely focus on the needs of others and to build sustainable and personal relationships.

Understand principles relating to large hotel facilities
Ability to organize personal activities to make the best use of time and effort
Ability to express self well when talking to potential decision makers or influencers
Ability to compute and communicate rates and prices to customers
Maintain enthusiasm and interest when interacting with decision makers and influencers
Keep accurate records of sales calls and contacts

Education, Work Experience, And Other Qualifications

Four year undergraduate degree
Direct sales experience (2 years minimum)
Hotel operations or retail merchandising experience (1 year minimum)

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Position requires working on a computer for an extended time involving visual review of documents and forms
Ability to walk to all areas of campus
Ability to travel to Sales events and conferences as needed
