FINANCIAL PLANNING & ANALYST MANAGER | JOB DESCRIPTION
SUMMARY
At Magnolia, the Financial Planning & Analyst Manager is responsible for overseeing the budgeting process, performing financial analysis, and developing accurate forecasts. This position collaborates with various departments to improve policies, procedures, and processes, build models for strategic decision-making, and ensure accurate financial reporting to support well-founded recommendations. This position works from Magnolia Headquarters in Waco, Texas. It reports to the Director of Finance and has supervisory responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct special studies to analyze complex financial transactions related to operational activities across all Magnolia entities and identify areas for improvement
Partner with various departments to identify opportunities for improvement on policies, procedures, and processes to ensure the accuracy of the financial data*
Build out models that project the impact of strategic decisions and projects the business is proposing*
Analyze monthly budget versus actual financial statements and report key findings to business leadership*
Partner with Director of Finance to develop the company's budgets, planning, and other corporate financial requirements
Assist Director of Finance in development and preparation of annual cash flow forecasts and other analyses included IRR on investments*
Manage the budgeting process, ensuring alignment with business strategies and priorities*
Manage, develop, train and coach staff to provide the highest level of individual performance and cross-functional support
Perform other duties as assigned

Strategy and Goal Setting: Approach change with positivity and curiosity, leading through ambiguity. Break down team goals into daily or weekly goals, establish metrics, and communicate what actions employees must take to contribute to achieving these goals.
Hard skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required, experience using NetSuite accounting software and Workday Adaptive Insights planning tool preferred, comprehensive understanding of financial statements and the accounting relationships among them, strong understanding of financial metrics and cash flow management.
ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration from a 4-year college or university preferred
1-3 years of management experience and/or 5+ years of related work experience or a combination preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and arms to reach, handle, feel; utilize fine motor dexterity of fingers; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
