What You'll Do:
- Oversee the entire accounting team, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to ensure their success.
- Ensure a smooth and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing process, collaborating with internal and external auditors.
- Compile and analyze financial data for various stakeholders, including internal management, tax returns, and external auditors.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls, driving greater efficiency and effectiveness.
- Work closely with executive leaders across the company to translate financial data into business insights that inform strategic decision making.
- Collaborate effectively with Johnson Management's tax team, PWC's tax function, and other external specialists to optimize tax strategies.
- Champion the utilization of Workday, our accounting ERP system, to streamline processes and enhance team productivity.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning within the team, providing opportunities for professional development.
- A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with a proven track record of success in a leadership role.
- Experience in a public accounting environment is a plus.
- Prior experience in corporate accounting, preferably with a company using Workday, is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across departments.
- A self-motivated leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Must be a team player with a positive attitude and a willingness to take ownership.
