The Human Resource Assistant will be responsible for supporting plant operations by assisting in the administration of safety human resource procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Recruits, interviews, and selects employees to fill vacant hourly positions and coordinate onboarding process for all new employees. Coordinate orientation and training sessions for new employees. Assist with payroll functions including hourly timecard review, processing, answering employee questions, fixing processing errors, and distributing checks. Maintain accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation. Prepare new employee files. Answer frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc. Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records. Perform periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately. Provide clerical support to the HR department. Assist with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, plant meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations. Assist HR Department with various research projects and/or special projects. Assist with recruitment and interview process. Schedule meetings and interviews as requested by HR Manager. File papers and documents into appropriate employee files. Supervisory Responsibilities: In the event that this position becomes vacant, the Human Resource Manager will resume responsibilities. Qualifications: 1-2 years’ experience in an administrative role and/or an Associate’s degree. 1-2 years’ experience with Microsoft Office. HR experience preferred in manufacturing or plant environment.
