Role Summary:
  • This internship involves performing a range of foundational administrative tasks within the human resources division at Ozaukee County, with increasing responsibilities as the intern gains practical experience.
  • This is a part-time, temporary role requiring a commitment of hours each week.
Key Responsibilities:
  • 25% Provide assistance to the human resources team on various projects and offer administrative support to ensure smooth departmental operations.
  • 25% Aid in organizing and maintaining human resources personnel files, including digitizing documents.
  • 15% Support the administration of employee benefits.
  • 10% Develop and manage social media content and scheduling for Ozaukee County's online platforms.
  • 10% Engage in a variety of clerical and technical tasks during busy periods.
  • 10% Assist in the planning and execution of organizational events.
  • 5% Perform additional duties as assigned.
Supervision:
  • The intern will receive guidance from the Human Resources Director and other team members.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • No supervisory duties are required.
Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, candidates must effectively perform essential duties. The following qualifications are necessary:

  • Education: Candidates should be pursuing or currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in business administration or human resources.
  • Experience: Prior experience in a professional environment is preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks.
    • Strong collaboration skills for working with team members.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
    • Quick learner with the capacity to adapt to various responsibilities.
    • Strong organizational skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Work Environment:
  • The Human Resources Intern will operate in a standard office environment with minimal background noise.
