Role Summary:
- This position involves performing a range of foundational administrative tasks within the human resources division at Ozaukee County, with increasing complexity as the intern gains experience through hands-on training.
- This is a part-time, temporary role with specified weekly hours.
- 25% Provide assistance to HR team members on various projects and deliver administrative support to facilitate smooth departmental operations.
- 25% Aid in organizing and maintaining human resources personnel files, including digitizing documents as necessary.
- 15% Support the administration of employee benefits.
- 10% Develop and manage social media content and scheduling for Ozaukee County's online platforms.
- 10% Undertake a variety of paraprofessional, technical, and clerical duties during peak periods.
- 10% Assist in the planning and execution of organizational events.
- 5% Perform additional tasks as assigned.
- The intern will work under the guidance of the Human Resources Director and collaborate with other team members.
- No supervisory duties are required.
To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to effectively fulfill essential duties. The following qualifications are essential:
- Education: Candidates should be pursuing or have completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in business administration or human resources.
- Experience: Prior experience in a professional environment is preferred.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to work autonomously and juggle multiple projects efficiently.
- Comfortable collaborating with team members.
- Strong written and verbal communication capabilities.
- Quick learner with the ability to adapt to diverse tasks.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- The Human Resources Intern operates in a standard office environment with minimal background noise.
