Join us as we continue to provide solutions to our customers and the world The Role: Reporting to the Manager of Design Engineering at our Ogden, Utah plant, the Senior Design Engineer will help design, develop, and improve our product and equipment system designs. Our Senior Design Engineer also supports manufacturing our products, ensuring they are marketable and up to performance specifications. Additionally, the Senior Design Engineer will perform product design while preparing electrical and mechanical CAD drawings and Bills of Material for industrial heating systems to meet industry and customer standards. Responsibilities: Conducts engineering studies on design for products, associated and subsystems components, and structures. Analyzes engineering proposals, process requirements, and related technical data pertaining to design. Applies engineering principles to design, modify, or develop facilities, testing, machines, equipment, or processes. Conducts analytical studies on engineering proposals to develop design for products, equipment, machines, associated and subsystems components, and structures. Creates and releases Engineering Drawings, Bills of Material (BOM’s), ASME calculations and Routings. Analyzes data to determine feasibility of product proposal; analyzes product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine designs that can be produced by existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods. Develops custom procedures as needed. May determine feasibility of designing new plant equipment or modifying existing facilities considering costs, available space, time limitations, company planning, and other technical and economic factors. Confers with research personnel to clarify or resolve problems and develops design, design modifications as required. Prepares or directs preparations of product or system layout and detailed drawings and schematics; coordinates manufacturing or building of prototype product or system. Plans and develops experimental test programs; prevents or eliminates defects in new or existing products, evaluates results. Analyzes test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications. Studies engineering and technical publications to keep abreast of technological changes and developments in industry. Completes work ‘on-time’ and within budget. Ensures product fit, form and function meet customer requirements.
