Position Overview

The Senior Quality Engineer will be instrumental in enhancing the project engineering team’s efforts to guarantee inter-disciplinary collaboration and the excellence of outputs for a Department of Defense project, specifically focusing on the USAF Sentinel program during its Engineering and Manufacturing Development phase.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute engineering designs and tasks within a specific discipline, managing projects of varying complexities.
  • Assess and verify designs, drawings, and data generated by other engineers or suppliers to ensure precision and quality.
  • Supervise the evaluation of multi-discipline engineering outputs, ensuring coherence, coordination, and compliance with quality benchmarks.
  • Facilitate quality assessments of deliverable packages prior to customer submission, ensuring adherence to all standards.
  • Collect inputs and technical data from senior engineers across various disciplines to effectively complete assigned tasks.
  • Establish and uphold project engineering protocols, aligning with corporate procedures, contract stipulations, and relevant codes and standards.
  • Conduct self-evaluations within the engineering department to ensure adherence to established protocols.
  • Design and deliver training on procedures, policies, and guidelines to engineering staff.
  • Identify, prepare, and report on project engineering quality metrics and trends, presenting these findings to management and client representatives.
  • Engage in project quality audits and surveillance, coordinating Closed-Loop Corrective Action initiatives with engineering teams.
  • Participate in review meetings as the engineering representative.
  • Promote Condition Reporting and Lessons Learned initiatives through applicable platforms.
  • Oversee the timely resolution of engineering condition reports and related actions, providing insights and lessons learned to the engineering team.
  • Collaborate with engineering disciplines to plan and execute work as a unified team, ensuring alignment and quality.
  • Coordinate with client representatives as necessary, maintaining effective communication and project alignment.
  • Lead small engineering task groups when required, driving team performance and task completion.
  • Analyze engineering processes to identify improvement opportunities and implement solutions.
  • Maintain configuration management and ensure that changes to processes are communicated effectively to relevant engineers.
  • Work collaboratively to refine and enhance processes and procedures, meeting client needs and ensuring high-quality outputs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline from an accredited institution and 9 years of related experience, or 15 years of related experience in lieu of a degree. Proven leadership experience or education is required.
  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance is essential.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience in engineering for construction projects.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance programs, such as ISO-9001D.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Additional Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in preparing procedures and instructions.
  • Knowledge of configuration management codes and standards for DOD, particularly EIA.
  • Experience working with government agencies, especially the Department of Defense.
  • Familiarity with engineering department procedures and design standards.
  • Experience in developing and presenting training materials.
  • Prior supervisory experience requiring cross-discipline coordination.
  • USACE Construction Quality Management training or experience in USACE Contractor Quality Control.
  • Current Professional Engineer's License.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Power-BI, Access, and SharePoint.
Compensation and Benefits

Compensation for this position is hourly and based on experience, background, and skills.
