Position Overview

The Senior Quality Engineer will be integral in supporting the engineering team to guarantee inter-disciplinary collaboration and the quality of outputs for a Department of Defense project, specifically focusing on the USAF Sentinel program during its Engineering and Manufacturing Development phase.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute engineering design tasks within a specific discipline, managing projects of varying complexities.
  • Evaluate and verify designs, drawings, and data produced by other engineers or suppliers to ensure precision and quality.
  • Supervise the review of multi-discipline engineering outputs, ensuring cohesion, coordination, and compliance with quality standards.
  • Facilitate quality assessments of deliverable packages prior to submission, ensuring adherence to all standards.
  • Collect inputs and technical information from senior engineers across various disciplines to effectively complete assigned tasks.
  • Establish and uphold project engineering procedures, aligning with corporate protocols, contract stipulations, and applicable codes and standards.
  • Conduct self-assessments within the engineering department to verify compliance with established procedures.
  • Develop and deliver training on procedures, policies, and instructions to engineering personnel.
  • Identify, prepare, and report on project engineering quality metrics and trends, presenting these findings to management and client representatives.
  • Engage in project quality audits and surveillances, coordinating Closed-Loop Corrective Action initiatives with engineering teams.
  • Participate in review meetings as the engineering point of contact.
  • Encourage the Condition Reporting and Lessons Learned programs through relevant applications.
  • Oversee the timely resolution of engineering condition reports and associated actions, providing feedback and insights to the engineering team.
  • Collaborate with engineering disciplines to plan and execute work as a cohesive team, ensuring alignment and quality.
  • Coordinate with client representatives as necessary, maintaining effective communication and project alignment.
  • Lead small engineering task groups when required, driving team performance and task completion.
  • Analyze engineering processes to identify improvement opportunities and implement solutions.
  • Maintain configuration management and ensure that changes to processes are communicated clearly to relevant engineers.
  • Work collaboratively to develop and enhance processes and procedures, meeting customer needs and ensuring high-quality outputs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field from an accredited institution and 9 years of related experience, or 15 years of related experience in lieu of a degree. Proven leadership experience or education is required.
  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance is essential.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in engineering for construction projects.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance programs, such as ISO-9001D.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Additional Qualifications
  • Experience in procedure and/or instruction preparation.
  • Knowledge of configuration management codes and standards for DOD.
  • Experience working with government agencies, particularly the Department of Defense.
  • Familiarity with engineering department procedures and standards.
  • Experience in developing and presenting training materials.
  • Prior supervisory experience requiring cross-discipline coordination.
  • USACE Construction Quality Management training or relevant experience.
  • Current Professional Engineer's License is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Power-BI, Access, and SharePoint.
Compensation and Benefits

As a W2 employee, team members are eligible for benefits including medical, dental, vision, and a company-matching 401K plan, subject to plan terms and applicable waiting periods. Compensation for this position is hourly, based on experience, background, and skills.
