ABOUT IPARAMETRICS & THE PROJECT
Established in 2003, iParametrics excels in delivering cutting-edge solutions across engineering, construction, emergency management, security, and data analytics for both commercial and public sector clients. As a key subcontractor to Bechtel, we are integral to the U.S. Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program, a vital initiative by the U.S. Air Force aimed at modernizing the nation's aging inter-continental ballistic missile (ICBM) capabilities. This program is crucial for sustaining the ground component of the U.S. nuclear deterrent. As part of the Northrop Grumman GBSD nationwide team, Bechtel oversees the design, construction, and integration of the launch system.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Senior Quality Assurance Engineer will be pivotal in assisting the project engineering team to ensure effective inter-discipline coordination and the quality of outputs for a DOD/USAF project, specifically the USAF Sentinel (GBSD) program during its Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase. This role emphasizes the maintenance of project engineering protocols and active involvement in the project's quality and corrective action initiatives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional communication, organizational, and collaborative skills, with the capacity to work autonomously, resolve issues efficiently, and adapt to evolving project requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Execute engineering design tasks within a specific discipline, managing projects of varying complexities.
  • Review and validate designs, drawings, and data produced by other engineers or suppliers to ensure precision and quality.
  • Supervise the review of multi-discipline engineering deliverables, ensuring cohesion, coordination, and compliance with quality standards.
  • Coordinate quality assessments of deliverable packages prior to submission to the client, ensuring all standards are satisfied.
  • Collect inputs and technical data from senior engineers across various disciplines to effectively complete assigned tasks.
  • Develop and uphold project engineering protocols, aligning with Bechtel NS&E GBU, corporate procedures, contract stipulations, and relevant codes and standards.
  • Conduct self-assessments within the engineering department to guarantee adherence to established protocols.
  • Design and deliver training on procedures, policies, and guidelines to engineering personnel.
  • Identify, prepare, and report on project engineering quality metrics and trends, presenting these findings to Bechtel management and client representatives.
  • Engage in project quality audits and assessments, coordinating Closed-Loop Corrective Action (CLCA) program initiatives with project engineering teams.
  • Participate in Condition Report Review Committee (CRRC) meetings as the engineering representative.
  • Promote the Condition Reporting and Lessons Learned initiatives through platforms like DevonWay or similar.
  • Oversee the timely resolution of engineering condition reports and associated actions, providing feedback and insights to the engineering team.
  • Collaborate with engineering disciplines to plan and execute work as an integrated team, ensuring alignment and quality.
  • Coordinate with client representatives as necessary, maintaining effective communication and project alignment.
  • Lead small engineering task groups when required, driving team performance and task completion.
  • Analyze engineering processes to identify areas for enhancement and implement solutions.
  • Maintain configuration management and ensure that changes to processes are communicated clearly to relevant engineers.
  • Work collaboratively to develop and refine processes and procedures, meeting client needs and ensuring high-quality outputs.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • BS degree in a relevant engineering discipline from an accredited institution and 9 years of related experience, or 15 years of related experience in lieu of a degree. Proven leadership experience or education.
  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
  • Must be eligible to obtain a DoD Security Clearance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Prior experience in engineering for construction projects.
  • Experience with quality assurance programs, such as ISO-9001D.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in preparing procedures and/or instructions.
  • Familiarity with configuration management codes and standards for DOD, specifically EIA.
  • Experience collaborating with government agencies, preferably the Department of Defense (DoD).
  • Knowledge of Bechtel Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), Engineering Department Procedure Instructions (EDPIs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs).
  • Experience in developing and presenting training materials.
  • Prior supervisory experience requiring cross-discipline coordination.
  • USACE Construction Quality Management training or USACE Contractor Quality Control experience.
  • Current (not expired) Professional Engineer's License.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications Power-BI, Access, and SharePoint.
