Event Coordinator for On Campus Recruitment

Coordinate and serve as the lead for recruitment events at Liberty University. Lead the planning, execution, and maintenance of on-campus recruiting events as assigned. Coordinate multiple projects and tasks involved in the production and planning of campus recruitment events: marketing of events and proofing of web, print, and digital materials; assisting with phones calls with guests leading up to events; plan and manage catering, reservations, creating layouts; volunteer management; facility management; resource and inventory; email communication. Coordinate all logistics involved in the event planning process. Build and maintain key logistics relationships with Event Support, Catering & Dining, Academics, Campus Safety & Security, Facilities, Transit, Transportation, and Marketing. Assist with developing new initiatives, events, and ideas in support of recruiting students visiting on campus. Coordinating event involvement with various branches of Liberty University's faculty and staff. Provide support to the Director of On-Campus Recruitment & Events. Manage communications in an effective and timely manner via email and phone. Assist with the management of student team members, including answering questions and giving direction on tasks. Audit websites and other communications related to recruiting events. Provide creative input in the design and execution of events. Assist with other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
1. Create and plan the events in a project-oriented manner, develop concepts or ideas and prepare overviews of what each year's events will look like.
2. Assist with marketing and signage requests and inventory in support of event execution.
3. Support the On-Campus Recruitment Events in communicating and planning all events with university faculty, staff, and leadership.
4. Maintain relationships and communication with key Liberty University stakeholders.
5. Assist with special projects as needed.
Qualifications, Credentials, and Competencies
A bachelor's degree, extensive knowledge of Liberty's campus, policies, and procedures and previous experience leading, planning, and executing events required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to adapt to change/multi-task. Experience in marketing events, evening planning, and customer service environment preferred.
Effective communication both verbally and in writing. Ability to intuitively reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature. Excellent computer and organizational skills. Regularly lift 50 pounds or fewer. Proof of a valid Virginia driver's license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required. On-campus recruitment events are hosted across the university campus, which involve walking across campus. This movement across campus often results in a cumulative walking distance of between 5 and 10 miles.
