They will set strategy and complete foundational SEO, PPC and Social Media related tasks.
The Sr. Digital Marketing Specialists will make strategic decisions for all search-related tasks in the realm of SEO, PPC and Social Media. This is a client-facing role that includes client calls and supporting sales as the subject matter expert for SEO, PPC and Social Media. They are expected to seek out opportunities to highlight clients' results; review reports; and partner with sales to address clients' concerns through their campaign.
The Sr. Digital Marketing Specialist is responsible for reporting and analysis and providing action plans to provide tangible evidence of the value of SEO to the client and support sales in retaining our customers.
To succeed in this role, the Sr. Digital Marketing Specialist will need to be a self-starter who's able to roll up their sleeves to problem solve. They will need to pivot quickly, to work effectively in a team as well as independently and to communicate effectively. They will leverage their internet marketing background to complete tasks and cases aligned with instructions from SOPs/training and complete within the corresponding timelines.
Those who can showcase previous examples of how they can think outside the box to problem solve, as well as the ability to think on their feet will be an ideal fit.
Responsibilities:
- Create, design and execute successful SEO, PPC & LSA campaigns in competitive markets using industry and departmental best practices
- Complete SEO and PPC project tasks based on task due dates
- Troubleshoot technical questions and provide simplified answers and action plans to clients via phone and email
- Identify trends, successes and SEO, PPC and Social Media and conversion opportunities for improved outcomes
- Perform topical and competitive research to create content optimization strategy
- Draft client content recommendations, and complete local business listing optimization as needed
- Monitor the campaign throughout its life cycle; complete audits on and off-site fixes in order to keep the campaign performing at or above goals
- Serve as the SEO, PPC and Social Media client interface and communicate results and complex concepts in simple language to our clients
- Partner with technical leads to draft requirements for developers to make ongoing website platform enhancements, bug reporting and complete UAT
- Pioneer, test and train on processes for new fulfillment initiatives stemming from product changes
- Lead and moderate discussions regarding hot industry topics to evolve our department and stay ahead of the constantly evolving search landscape
- Quality assurance of specialists' campaigns to ensure consistent, accurate and timely fulfillment
- Identify training opportunities and conduct new hire and ongoing training to invest in the team as well as the department's growth
Qualifications:
- 4 -Year College Degree (Business, Journalism or Marketing preferred)
- 4+ years' experience with industry-standard tools, such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics and Google Business Profile
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of website best practices and factors that influence rankings and indexation within search engines
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to dig extensively into metrics and analytics
- Understanding of major search algorithms
- Minimum of 1 year experience with Google Ads
- Experience identifying trends, successes and opportunities for improved organic traffic
- Ability to identify and recommend solutions to technical hurdles, such as:
- Google Search Console diagnostic issues, server and crawl errors
- Troubleshooting loss of rankings, traffic and conversions
- Google Business Profile suspensions and issues
- Schema errors
- Redirects and broken links
- Website performance and page speed
- Proficient with the following tools or similar:
- Site Crawlers such as Screaming Frog or Xenu LinkSleuth
- Page Speed Testing Tools such as Lighthouse and Chrome Dev Tools
- Keyword Research Tools such as SEMRush
- Business Listing Management reporting like Moz or BrightLocal
- Project Management Tools such as JIRA
- Keyword Rank Tracking Tools
- Advanced Microsoft Excel Experience
- Polished communication skills with both strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong project management skills and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with flexibility and ability to shift priorities easily
- Strong attention to detail
- Familiarity with local SEO, including experience with ranking for both organic and hybrid results and working with Google Business Profile to achieve results.
- Understanding of major search engine algorithms and ability to identify and recommend solutions to technical hurdles
- Strong analytic skills to assess shifts in performance and adjust campaigns quickly to stay on top of the search engines
- Experience dealing with demanding clients
- Google Analytics certification is a plus
- Experience with Facebook Ads and Bing Ads management is a plus
