Summary:
This position is located in Service Center Operations Directorate, Vermont Service Center. As an Operations Support Specialist, you will provide a variety of essential services to USCIS' operations, like assisting management with administering policies and procedures, and providing guidance/instruction to various audiences on programs that include complex issues.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, interpret, and advise on administrative requirements.
- Prepare project papers, staff reports, and other reports utilizing various automated systems.
- Organize and deliver briefings to managers to promote understanding and acceptance of findings and recommendations.
- Review newly issued regulations or directives to ascertain their impact on program areas.
- Conduct extensive research and analysis on administrative projects by gathering and analyzing data, developing options, and making recommendations.
- Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of complex and substantive management support and administrative systems, programs, and processes.
- Participate in strategic planning, or development of business strategies and recommend internal procedural changes.
Requirements:
- U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
- Background Investigation including financial disclosure.
- Drug screening.
- Submit resume and supporting documentation.
- Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered with the Selective Service.
- Residency Requirement.
Qualifications:
- GS-09: Specialized experience at least equivalent to the GS-07 level in the federal government or relevant Master's degree.
- GS-11: Specialized experience at least equivalent to the GS-09 level in the federal government or relevant Doctoral degree.
- GS-12: Specialized experience at least equivalent to the GS-11 level in the federal government.
Education:
Educational substitution not available for GS-12 level. For GS-09/11 Levels, combining qualifying experience and education is possible.
Additional Information:
- Background Investigation required.
- DHS uses E-Verify for eligibility confirmation.
- Completion of Optional Form 306 and certification of information accuracy required.
- Drug testing may be conducted as a condition of employment.
