Hand In Hand Creative Learning Center is a nurturing child care and preschool facility dedicated to fostering a supportive environment for young learners. Our center is designed to promote self-awareness and positive decision-making among children, utilizing calming strategies to guide behavior and ensuring a safe, engaging atmosphere for all.
We are in search of a passionate Educational Support Specialist to enhance our team at Hand In Hand Creative Learning Center. Candidates should comply with Vermont State Regulations for Educational Support Specialist roles. In this position, you will collaborate with fellow educators to create and execute educational programs, supervise daily classroom activities, and understand the holistic development of children to cultivate a stimulating learning environment that encourages success.
Key Responsibilities
Essential duties include:
- Designing educational experiences aligned with Developmentally Appropriate Practices and Vermont Early Learning Standards.
- Encouraging cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth through customized activities.
- Maintaining effective communication with families through various methods.
- Ensuring adherence to center policies and state regulations.
- Creating a secure classroom environment in accordance with state guidelines and ITERS/ECERS standards.
- Documenting observations, curriculum, and assessments in a timely manner.
- Engaging in ongoing professional development for continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Compliance with Vermont State Regulations for Educational Support Specialist positions
- Minimum age requirement of twenty (20) years
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, children, and families
- Comprehensive understanding of child development
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Infant/Child CPR First Aid Certification
- Mandated Reporter Training
- Successful completion of Background Check and Fingerprinting
- Completion of Vermont Orientation Training
Candidates must meet one (1) of the following criteria:
- Vermont Early Childhood Career Ladder Level Three (3) Certificate
- Associate degree in Early Childhood, Child or Human Development, Elementary Education, or a related field with twelve (12) months of experience with young children
- Certificate of Completion from the Registered Child Care Apprenticeship Program
- Child Care Certificate from the Community College of Vermont with twelve (12) months of experience with young children
- Twenty-one (21) college credits in early childhood or school-age focus with twelve (12) months of experience with young children
