Nemours Children's Health, Florida is seeking a dynamic, independent thinker with excellent interpersonal and time management skills to join their Business Development team. This full-time position entails working on routine and special projects with internal and external stakeholders at a variety of levels in the organization. Professionalism and flexibility are a must.
The position manages and/or assists in managing multiple projects and initiatives through all phases of the project management life cycle including planning, scheduling and controlling activities to fulfill identified objectives. He/she coordinates and integrates team and individual efforts and builds positive professional relationships with all internal and external clients
The position requires the ability to work with minimal direction in a fast-paced environment, making independent decisions and using personal judgment, problem-solving skills and creativity.
This position is responsible and accountable for operations, services, and financial performance for their assigned Partnership Hospital Location(s).
Essential Functions
- Ensures the partnership hospital service is staffed appropriately, equipment is on hand and in working order and supplies are on hand in an effort to achieve optimal work flow.
- Provides support when coverage is needed for services provided within assigned location.
- Verify and update demographic, insurance, and PCP and authorization/referral information when required for each new patient encounter.
- Refer patient to financial counselor as appropriate.
- Keep abreast of all insurance and system changes/updates.
- Prepares activity and progress reports regarding the efforts and status of projects. Creates and uses Gantt charts, spreadsheets or other appropriate tools to manage daily projects and tasks.
- Prepares reports, briefings, and presentations as requested.
- Assist in the data analysis, collection, coordination, and interpretation as they relate to health care organizations including discharges, patient days, length of stay, pricing and other statistics from various health care organizations in the region, state and nation.
- Assists on projects and special assignments as deemed appropriate by leadership when strategic planning input is necessary for decision-making.
- With minimum direction and making independent judgment, participates in strategic activities including new business evaluation development, financial and market analyses of any proposed new or expanded programs to be considered for development at Nemours enterprise sites.
- Develops formal written reports and recommendations detailing strategic, programmatic, and financial issues surrounding new program development.
- Collaborates with the departments of finance, management information services, and physician administration in the development of databases and analytical reports to be used in management decision-making as it affects long/short-range strategic and operational planning.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred. Will consider candidates with an Associate's Degree and a minimum of 1-2 years related experience.
- Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years experience required.
- Coordinator or Supervisor experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- This position will require frequent travel between multiple hospitals.
- Exceptional record keeping, writing and presentation skills, and identified ability to communicate ideas and concepts in order to support acceptance of recommendations.
