Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to join our team. The Procurement Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of raw materials and ingredients essential to our production process. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of procurement principles, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to build and maintain strong supplier relationships. Responsibilities: Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers/vendors to ensure a diverse and reliable supply chain. Maintain relationships with existing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and resolving any issues that may arise. Sourcing and Purchasing: Source raw materials, ingredients, and packaging materials at the best possible prices without compromising quality. Coordinate with production and inventory teams to ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials. Cost Analysis and Budgeting: Conduct regular cost analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize procurement processes. Develop and manage procurement budgets in collaboration with finance and management teams. Quality Assurance: Work closely with quality assurance and compliance teams to ensure that all materials sourced meet our quality standards and regulatory requirements. Risk Management: Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop strategies to mitigate them. Monitor market trends, geopolitical factors, and other external influences that may impact procurement operations. Data Management: Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation, including contracts, purchase orders, and supplier agreements. Utilize procurement software and systems to streamline processes and improve efficiency. Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of procurement operations. Qualifications: Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably in the food industry. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with procurement software and systems. Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements in the food industry. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
