Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and nurture effective and ethical relationships with suppliers for all materials, services, and equipment required by the organization.
  • Manage vendor relationships and parts to ensure timely delivery of goods and services that meet quality standards at competitive costs.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) to ensure all users are skilled in navigating company tools effectively.
  • Collaborate with leadership to align with strategic initiatives and identify knowledge-sharing needs.

Specific Duties Include:

  • Identify suppliers that meet quality, pricing, and delivery criteria.
  • Assess current and potential suppliers based on quality, reliability, and total cost.
  • Develop dependable supply sources and streamline purchasing operations through annual agreements.
  • Negotiate terms for purchase agreements and contracts to achieve optimal quality and pricing.
  • Analyze specifications and vendor capabilities to minimize costs.
  • Maintain effective communication with various departments to fulfill responsibilities.
  • Coordinate emergency actions with suppliers to address shipment delays or quality issues.
  • Initiate procurement documentation in accordance with established procedures.
  • Engage with vendors to obtain quotes, expedite deliveries, and monitor vendor activities.
  • Oversee clerical staff performing purchasing support functions.
  • Prepare periodic reports on purchasing activities and vendor performance.
  • Analyze purchasing procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Participate in training development and delivery to improve employee skills.
  • Provide feedback on new technologies and processes to users and management.
